Hafiz Hamdullah declares disrespecting Parliament's laws contemptuous

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah declared that not respecting the laws formulated by parliament was contemptuous towards both the parliament and the nation.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Mr Hamdullah emphasized that the parliament was the supreme law-making body and its supremacy should be accepted by all institutions.
According to Mr Hamdullah, no restrictions can be imposed on parliament regarding legislation, as it was the formulator of the constitution.
He also highlighted that all institutions, including the courts, exist due to the parliament's existence.
The spokersperson further emphasized that the decision of parliament was the decision of the nation and cannot be bulldozed. The parliament can use its legislative power whenever it deems necessary, he claimed.
Lastly, he emphasized that the institution that gave the constitution to the country must be respected and bowed down to by all other institutions.
